Staff App
The Staff App represents a state-of-the-art Software as a Service (SaaS) platform dedicated to optimizing workforce management processes. Media Shark was commissioned to undertake the design and development of two web-based applications along with one mobile application tailored to complement this sophisticated software solution.
SCOPING
Our process began with a rigorous phase of user research and stakeholder interviews, intended to thoroughly grasp the intricacies of workflows, pain points, and requirements associated with the project.
Building upon this invaluable insight, we initiated a holistic approach focusing on the development of a design system and high-fidelity prototypes meticulously crafted to address the specific needs of the client.

Branding
Our team of dedicated designers engaged in close collaboration with the client to craft a distinctive brand identity for Staff App. Presenting three logo concepts, each characterized by a unique style, facilitated the client’s review and elicited valuable feedback. Through this iterative process, we ultimately arrived at a final logo design that precisely captured their vision.
In addition to the logo design process, our design team meticulously developed a comprehensive brand guide. This guide encompasses a wide array of elements, including imagery selection, iconography, and font choices. Each aspect was carefully curated to ensure alignment with the client’s overarching company vision, mission, and core values.
By meticulously incorporating these elements, we aimed to create a cohesive and impactful brand identity that resonates with the target audience while maintaining consistency across all brand communications.
Design & Prototyping
Having solidified the brand identity, our UI/UX design team initiated the next phase by crafting wireframes and translating them into low-fidelity prototypes.
These prototypes underwent a meticulous refinement process to elevate them to high-fidelity standards, encapsulating the user experience across all platforms. The client’s approval and satisfaction upon reviewing these prototypes served as a validation of our design decisions, laying a robust foundation for the subsequent development phase.
Development
Throughout the development process, we adhered to an Agile methodology, organizing tasks into sprints for iterative development and continuous improvement. Regular demos were conducted with the client to showcase progress and gather feedback, ensuring alignment with their requirements and expectations. This collaborative approach facilitated flexibility and responsiveness to evolving needs, resulting in a tailored solution that precisely met the client’s workforce management objectives.
This platform caters to three essential user roles:
Super Administrator (developed as a web application) Responsible for overseeing business and user accounts, managing subscriptions, maintaining informative pages, and facilitating dynamic functionalities.
Business – (developed as a web application) Tailored for paid subscribers, offering a comprehensive suite of features including instant messaging, staff registrations, HR management, timesheet management, rostering, leave and availability tracking, qualification and certification management, shift and event scheduling, staff timesheet review, acceptance, and an integrated expense calculator tool.
Staff Member (developed as a mobile application) Empowering staff members with functionalities such as instant messaging, timesheet management, clocking in and out, profile and certification updates, notifications, leave requests, and access to the scheduler.
Result
In February 2023, Media Shark achieved a significant milestone by successfully concluding the initial development phase of Staff App. Our team delivered visually captivating and user-centric mobile applications compatible with both iOS and Android platforms, along with a web application tailored for businesses, and a robust super administrator platform. This achievement marks a pivotal step towards realizing the vision of Staff App, and we eagerly anticipate its forthcoming launch into the market.
